Safira

Safira
Description
Safira is a low, rain-soaked region shaped by persistent drizzle, cool winds, and open ground. The landscape is largely treeless, broken only by occasional wind- twisted growth along sheltered folds of land. Most of the region is covered in dense, heather-like lowgrowth that spreads in wide mats across gently rolling terrain, giving Safira its muted blue-green and violet tones.
Rain falls lightly but frequently, often as mist or fine drizzle rather than heavy storms. The ground rarely dries completely. Moisture clings to stone, plant, and hide alike, creating conditions that are inhospitable to most forms of agriculture but well suited to the region’s dominant lifeforms.
Safira’s appearance is not wild in the untended sense. Its open fields, lowgrowth, and worn paths reflect long use rather than neglect.
Kelmar and the Land
Safira is defined by its relationship with the Kelmar, large grazing animals whose smooth, waterproof hides are the foundation of the region’s economy. Kelmar feed exclusively on Lazuliberries, which grow in abundance among Safira’s low bushes and cannot be cultivated elsewhere.
Kelmar herding has shaped the region over generations. Grazing patterns maintain the open landscape, preventing tree growth and encouraging the spread of berry-bearing plants. Paths, clearings, and seasonal enclosures are subtly etched into the land, visible only to those familiar with its rhythms.
Where Kelmar grazing ceases, the landscape changes quickly.
The Capren
Safira is home to the Capren, a goat-like clan whose way of life is inseparable from Kelmar herding and tanning. The Capren have lived in Safira for as long as records exist and are known for their refusal to abandon land that continues to provide.
Capren settlements are sparse and functional, spaced according to grazing needs rather than defense or trade. Their work focuses on the processing of Kelmar hides, with tanning methods refined through repetition rather than innovation. The Capren are widely regarded as skilled and dependable, if resistant to change.
Their identity is bound less to settlement than to continuity of practice. To the Capren, Safira is not merely a place of origin, but a condition that makes their work possible at all.

Prompt
Style: Semi-realistic fantasy regional landscape illustration, grounded and naturalistic, with no overt magic.
A wide, open lowland under persistent light rain or mist. The terrain is gently rolling, largely treeless, and covered in dense, heather-like lowgrowth dotted with small berry-bearing bushes. Subtle paths and grazing patterns are visible across the land.
A few Kelmar may be present at a distance, grazing calmly. The sky is overcast but bright, with diffuse light reflecting off wet ground and vegetation. The color palette favors muted greens, blue-violets, greys, and soft earth tones, conveying a sense of long use and ecological balance rather than wilderness.
