Relationships

Alaric

Alaric believes the Belthari legends are true, but carries that belief as something faintly embarrassing. He may open up in rare, vulnerable moments, yet quickly closes himself again, wary of being seen as foolish or naïve. He is not generally gullible and loves references to farming.

Azar
Azar

Alaric is not fooled by Azar’s stories, but he is deeply drawn to them. He recognizes storytelling as a craft rather than truth, and enjoys listening without needing to believe. In Azar, Alaric senses a familiar instinct to protect something fragile by wrapping it in narrative — a tactic he understands more than he admits.

Something else

Azar

Azar is comfortable being liked by many, but trusted by few. He thrives in shared spaces, group laughter, and collective attention. Easily frightened, he avoids genuine danger and loudly compensates by boasting about his bravery, inflating minor moments into heroic exploits.

Alaric
Alaric

Azar enjoys telling stories to Alaric because he never interrupts and never asks for proof. He senses that Alaric listens not for facts, but for meaning and entertainment. He never tries to expose Alaric's childish believes and when someone else does, he takes his side.

Bayak
Bayak

Bayak unsettles Azar. She listens without reacting, which makes him unsure whether his charm is working at all.

Bayak

Bayak prefers solitude over crowds and is most comfortable in one-on-one encounters. She avoids group settings and is rarely seen in communal spaces like the bakery or the inn, where noise and social momentum overwhelm meaning.

She approaches relationships through attentiveness rather than exchange, seeking deeper alignment instead of favors, trade, or obligation. Bayak is not transactional; when she offers time, guidance, or presence, it is because she senses connection, not because something is owed.
