Luna

Details

  • Age: Appears late 20s
  • Gender: Female
  • Clan: Half-Velari (Mother)
  • Occupation: Mystic of Nature, Herbalist, Healer
  • Hails from: The woodland edges of the Meadowslopes

Character

Luna is quietly curious and deeply attentive, more comfortable observing than speaking. She avoids drawing attention to herself, preferring to be noticed only when her presence is needed. Trust, once given, is rewarded with patience, care, and a rare warmth that few see at first.

She has an intuitive understanding of living things — not only plants, but people. Luna listens carefully, remembers small details, and acts gently but decisively when others are unsure. She values balance over certainty and prefers slow, deliberate work to sudden intervention.

Flowers, herbs, dyes, and healing are not merely interests to her - they are languages she understands fluently.

Quote

“Some things heal best when they are allowed to grow slowly.” - Luna

Appearance

Luna bears the quiet contrast of her heritage. From her Velari mother, she has ice-white hair and pale, almost ethereal skin, giving her a presence that feels light, cool, and softly luminous. From the flowering meadows comes a gentler warmth — a natural ease among growing things that tempers the stillness of ice.

Everything about her appearance feels subdued and delicate rather than fragile: light fabrics, muted tones, and movements that seem carefully measured. She is often mistaken for something distant or otherworldly, though those who spend time with her find her presence grounding rather than cold.

Home

Luna lives in the Grimoire Garden, a flowering cottage nestled at the edge of the western wood. Its roof is overgrown with ivy and moonbud blossoms, and the door creaks like a friendly sigh. Spellbooks spill from the windowsills, and the surrounding garden grows in deliberate patterns — mandalas of thyme, sage, starlace, and glowroot.

Inside, soft light filters through stained glass, casting slow rainbows across the floor. An enchanted kettle is always warm, and the air carries the scent of drying herbs and steeping leaves. Her familiar — a pale-green moth with opalescent wings — rests quietly among the rafters during the day.

Magical herbs, flowers, and dyes of every shade and hue can be found in her shop — offered to anyone seeking healing, insight, or something quietly transformative.

Background

Luna’s parents did not come together cautiously.

Her mother was Velari, raised on the ice of Ithral, fluent in motion, skating, and the clarity that comes from cold and wind. Her father was Florenne, living in a small hamlet in Florayne, where his work centered on herbal remedies shaped by specific plants, insects, and seasons. They met in the Market Town of Calenne and fell in love quickly, without negotiation or restraint.

They chose one another fully.

That choice carried consequence. Ithral is impossible for the Florenne, whose bodies and practices are unsuited to its hostility. Florayne, by contrast, could hold both of them — though it required Luna’s mother to leave behind the ice, the skates, and the form of movement that had shaped her life. She missed Ithral deeply, but she stayed.

They settled in Murienne (see note below), a small Florenne hamlet surrounded by flowering meadows and insect-rich ground. Luna grew up among many siblings, in a household defined by work rather than ritual. Her father’s craft demanded precision. Herbal remedies in Florayne are never universal — what healed one clan might harm another. Dosage, timing, preparation, and even the handler’s familiarity all matter.

Mistakes carried risk.

From time to time fragments of understanding about plants, insects, or interactions unknown to the Wendmorians slip through the resonance. Luna has an anticipation for these moments and is frequently the starting point of quests.

Note: Murienne takes its name from an old Florenne term for mugwort, a meadow plant associated with anticipation, careful preparation, and sensitivity to unseen change.

Prompt

Portrait-style fantasy illustration showing the character from mid-torso upward, with the full head and all hair fully visible and not cropped. There is generous space above the head so that no part of the hair is cut off. Luna is centered in the frame, with shoulders, upper chest, and upper torso clearly visible.

Luna is a young woman with a gentle, open presence, shown in a mid-torso portrait facing slightly toward the viewer.

She has fair skin with a warm blush across the cheeks and nose. Her expression is kind and attentive, with a quiet confidence rather than shyness.

Her eyes are green, softly luminous, and natural in proportion, with clear separation between iris, sclera, and eyelids. Her gaze is direct but calm.

Her long, pale blonde hair falls loosely over her shoulders, with one small braid. The hair has natural volume and layered strands, with subtle shadow depth where locks overlap.

She wears a simple peach-colored dress with soft folds and a belt made of small flowers and greenery. The clothing is modest, practical, and lightly decorative.

The background is softly textured and natural, suggesting fields or foliage without distinct detail.

Luna’s overall presence is warm, grounded, and approachable.

Global wrapper:

Rendered in a hand-painted, fantasy watercolor style with visible pigment grain, soft paper texture, and layered washes.

The image balances softness with clear value structure: true dark values are present where forms overlap, especially in hair masses, facial planes, and clothing folds, ensuring strong on-screen readability.

Lighting is diffuse and natural, without glow, rim lighting, or cinematic effects. Contrast is moderate-to-high for a painterly illustration: shadows are deepened within existing forms, highlights remain soft and restrained.

Colors are rich and pigment-heavy rather than saturated, with depth created through layered tone instead of brightness. No global desaturation, no pastel washout.

Edges remain painterly and soft, but silhouettes separate clearly from the background. No graphic outlines, no anime styling, no sharp digital rendering.

Overall mood is calm, grounded, and atmospheric, suitable for a fantasy RPG character portrait designed to read clearly at small screen sizes.
