Overview

Alaric insists that every great hero should know how to grow their own food. “You can’t quest on an empty stomach,” he says, handing you a handful of seeds and a watering can that’s seen better days. “Besides, there’s something satisfying about seeing things grow — especially when you’re the one who made it happen.”

He sets you up with a small patch of land and a choice of crops: peas, carrots, or potatoes. Each grows at its own pace — peas are quick and easy, potatoes take patience, and carrots are somewhere in between. But no matter what you plant, nothing grows without water, and water here is earned through wit. A few quiz questions later, your watering can is full, your crops are soaked and fertilized, your soil is tilled, and your farm is underway.

Then you leave.

While you’re off on quests or catching Fish in Hooks, Line, and Sinker, your crops are quietly growing. When you return, they’re ready — and sometimes they come with surprises. Maybe your peas thrived in perfect weather. Maybe a curious squirrel tried to run off with your carrots. Or maybe something unusual sprouted overnight, and Alaric is pretending he knows exactly what it is (he doesn’t).

You harvest your crops, trade them in for scrips at Alaric’s shop, and choose what to do next: plant again, upgrade your tools, or unlock new secrets. Fertilisers, faster growth, rare seeds, and helpful hints all wait to be discovered. There are even rumours of a magical herb that only grows when the moon is full.

Alaric says farming is about timing, observation, and a little bit of cleverness. But mostly, it’s about coming back to see what’s changed — and being ready to make the most of it.
