The Hundred is a game that makes quizzing spectacular. Join this MMORPG, embark on a journey, and win the game by levelling up your quizzing skills.

Every feature in The Hundred makes you a better quizzer. You win once by beating the game and twice by amassing vast amounts of knowledge.

Setting

Your journey starts when one day you inherit an old and derelict workshop from your granddad. You travel to the land of Avantia and you find out that your granddad used to breed dragons.

The Hundred is a long-term game played over many months and years. Breeding and levelling up dragons takes time and skill. In the meantime, you build up your quizzing skills. And one day, when you are a much better quizzer, you lead your dragons into battle. You jump right in and wield the sword of knowledge, while your dragons breathe fire and fight with force.

Teach your Dragon

The Hundred uses the scintilla AI to find out when you have reached the level where you can share your knowledge with your dragons. The dragon will use generative text (like ChatGPT) to you questions and you can answer and explain in full sentences! With every piece of knowledge you teach your dragons, they will receive special powers. The better your explanations, the higher level the powers will be. In The Hundred, wisdom is power.

This is the hardest part of The Hundred and it needs a bit of practice. Your first dragons will be happy with simple explanations and they will win small upgrades. You will soon find that using specific vocabulary boosts your score and concise explanations result in higher skills than vague explanations. You will become a master teacher in no time, and your dragon’s wisdom levels will go through the roof.

Quests

The Hundred is an independent platform and does not rely on players having any prior knowledge. The Hundred is about amassing new knowledge, doing it fast, and retaining it forever.

Knowledge in The Hundred has a lifecycle, which starts with a quest. One villager will have a problem that they can not solve alone. With the help of the other villagers, you discover how to solve the problem. You return from your quest armed with new knowledge. Each quest ends with 2 or 3 short questions which you will be able to answer with this new knowledge.

But this is not where the lifecycle ends. All end-of-quest questions enter the scintilla AI for spaced retrieval. They will come up in battles just at the right time to trigger the spacing effect.

Our minds do not store new information for long. For most players, the first review will happen after only a few minutes. The next one typically follows after 20 or 30 minutes, then on the following day, then one week later, then one month later, then 3 months later and then a year later. Most knowledge needs as little as 8-12 revisions until it is effectively transferred to long-term memory. And since all of the questions in The Hundred can be answered in 5-30s, each minute of gameplay results in knowing one more thing.

This is why The Hundred has so many features to support long-term engagement. You create a lot of knowledge from day one. But once you play for a year or two you will get massive memory boosts and become a formidable quizzer. Forgetting will become a thing of the past.

Battles

All game features in the Hundred lead up to fight battles. Battles are where you strategically place your heroes and dragons. You level them up and armour them with gear to fight ever-stronger beasts. The Hundred will also make you part of the battles: With your quizzing skills, you can jump right. You can land attacks, strengthen your defences and heal wounds.

For this demo, we have chosen a game with a similar battle style. In Dragonheir - Silent Gods you collect dozens of heroes, and place them strategically to fight beasts. In The Hundred you will also have dragons. For the higher-level beasts, you will need a team that works well together. But unlike any other battle, you will top up your teams with your quizzing skills.

In the demo, we have overlayed Dragonheir battles with quiz questions to show what batteling will feel like in The Hundred.

Ultra-fast quizzing makes Spaced Retrieval work in your favour. The gear and level upgrades are in lockstep with your knowledge upgrades.
