The Hundred for Players

The Hundred is the first MMORPG where you level up like the heroes and dragons you are fighting with. And just like them you start out with very little and you build up your power one battle at a time. After a while, you will be able to beat bigger beasts. And as the game goes on you can fight beasts for incredible loot to gear up your teams of heroes and dragons around you. You are at the centre of a ferocious force.

In The Hundred you fight as yourself and not as an avatar. On your quests, you will find the answers to quiz questions and you will take them into the fight. But it is not as easy as just remembering them all! Answers to easy questions launch blunt attacks. Answer hard questions and leave your opponents in the dust. But your memory is great and hard questions become easy quickly. Not to worry! There is always a quest for you to find new questions and answers.

In The Hundred, your mind is your sword. Keep it sharp!

The Game

The Hundred is an open-world MMORPG where you are in charge of your own destiny. Of course you are. This is what all MMORPGs promise. But in The Hundred it is real. You beat the game with levelling up heroes, dragons, armour, buffs, artefacts, and … yourself. Your skills turn a good attack team into a terrifying one. You are right in there, fighting side by side with your heroes and dragons.

In the beginning

You start with almost nothing: You have inherited an old and derelict factory in a remote village from your eccentric grandfather. He never talked about what he actually produced, but one thing is for sure … it didn’t make him much money. He was in the business for something else. Something far more powerful.

The town mayor welcomes you and tells you large tales about your grandad. When he was younger, he was a tough fighter and a hero. He knew everything and sorted out all the problems of the village. Today the village is off the beaten track and a bit run down, but back in those days, it flourished. People came from far and wide to marvel at its achievements. And this was all because of your granddad!

When the mayor leaves and you spend your first night at your new home, you go through the vast library and you discover a little handwritten booklet. Breeding Dragons. You open it.

Breeding Dragons

Dragons are mighty beasts and powerful. They are also highly intelligent and thirst for knowledge. They never fight on their own but they will follow you into battle. Breeding them can be difficult. They need very different breeding conditions and bringing them up can be even more difficult. The common ones grow up quickly with little effort, but mythical and legendary ones can take days and weeks of attention. But once you have succeeded, having dragons is better than having all the gold in the world.

Fruit dragons are the most common ones. As their name suggests they feed on frequently found fruit. They grow up in no time and offer useful attacks for lower-level beasts. You can level them up with any fruit but each one has preferences. Watch out for what fruit your dragon likes best to level them up!

Why don’t you try it out? Your granddad always keeps a fruit dragon egg in the larder. Go and find some wood and rooks to fix up the hatchery and collect some fruit on the way. Then breed your first dragon!

Exploring

You start exploring. Rocks, wood and other building materials are easy to find. You pick up some apples and berries. You notice some roaming beasts but you are not quite ready to hunt. You return to your factory and you fix up the hatchery with some wood and rock. You place the dragon egg carefully, you fire up the breeder with more wood and one minute later you have your first baby dragon!

Next steps: Fix up the nursery, move your baby dragon there, feed it some fruit and watch it grow up in no time.

Congratulations: You have a fruit dragon who will protect you from beast attacks when you hunt. Go out there again, track down a beast and enter your first battle!

Your first Battle

You find your first beast and attack. The battle is easy: You select your fruit dragon to provide you with defence, you place yourself on the battlefield and the fight begins! A couple of minutes later you have whittled down the resistance and you collect your first loot. It drops some leather and a raspberry. You have also gained your first XP and you level up!

Back you go to your base, fix up the feed yard and the dragon trough, and feed your food dragon the raspberry. It will take a few minutes to level up. In the meantime, you fix up the armoury and make yourself a pair of nice leather boots. Put them on and they will increase your attack speed by 10%.

You notice that you have received a number of letters in the post. The villagers have started to call for your help, so why don’t you walk over to the village and see if you can sort out their problems?

Quests

The village is not far from your base. You meet Fred, the farmer, who needs a boulder removed from his potato plot. There is Georgina, the blacksmith, who needs to find out more about her great-great-great-great uncle who fought at the Battle of Waterloo. There is Pauline, who needs help catching tadpoles to breed frogs. You decide to help out Bartholomew, the Wizard.

Bart is a bit of a scatterbrain. He is looking for ingredients for his invisibility potion. He needs spaghetti from Italy, tea from the UK, sauerkraut from Germany, camembert cheese from France, and caviar from Russia. But he can’t find those countries on his teleportation map. Can you help him out? You can always call on the help of the other villagers. Who knows, some of them might know how to find those countries on a map.

Great job! Your first quest is done. You have now unlocked quizzing for your battles. Bart rewards you with a dragon egg to hatch an invisibility dragon and also with a couple of hero shards.

Summoning Heroes

At the centre of the village, you find the hero hall. It has a fountain in its centre. This is the place where you can summon heroes to fight in your battles!

You cast your shards into the fountain and you are joined by a number of heroes. They all have different strengths and weaknesses. Some are great attackers, some can heal injuries, some are bulky defenders, and others lay traps. Some work with fire, others with poison or with lightning. You can take up to 5 into your battles and you can now take on a lot stronger beasts with far better drops. How about you breed your invisibility dragon and you pair it up with your lightning heroes? This will form an almost unstoppable force!

Battle Strategy

You are now ready for a full battle. You do not need a strategy for low-level beasts and you can hunt them with little effort for common resources. But if you want to beat the stronger beasts with valuable drops, you have to think about your strategy!

Select a great team of heroes. A strong defender to take the damage and protect the others. A trapper, who confines the beast so that your attacks hit harder, a healer to take care of your injuries, and a cleaner who shields your team from what the beast throws at your team and other indirect attacks. Make sure your hero types fit together and place them well on the gameboard. You want your defender at the front, the attacker just behind the trapper and the healer and cleaner at the back.

But what makes your team a force of nature are your dragons. Take up to three of them to your battles. Make sure they play well with your heroes and you will see them launch devastating attacks that can defeat beasts well over your XP level. If this is still not enough, you can always support your team with quizzing!

Quizzing

If your attacks are not quite strong enough to gain the upper hand in a battle, it is now up to you to join in the fight. You can multiply the power of an attack by batting away a quiz question. You can prolong the time a beast gets trapped, you can increase healing effects, you can strengthen defences, or you help clean up the slime that some beasts spout.

Quiz questions lose their effect quickly, so make sure you always have enough at hand to make an impact. You win new quiz questions every time you complete a quest and every time you use one in a battle, you level up just like your heroes and your dragons do.

Here is the secret of The Hundred: You will always get the question that causes the most damage, the best healing, the toughest defence. And when you run out of good questions and your attacks are getting weaker, there are always a lot more questions to download so that you regain your strength.

Train your dragons

Dragons are not only strong - they are also wise. They don’t only feed on food - they also feed on knowledge.

Ever so often your dragons will need new knowledge to level up, and it is you who can teach them! Tell your water dragon all about how tadpoles grow into frogs and how their gills change into lungs. Show your fire dragon how volcanos work and your storm dragon what thunderclouds look like. They thirst for anything you pick up on your villager quests and they will thank you with their unwavering loyalty.

Guilds

You can play The Hundred in solo mode. But you can also enter a guild and play with your friends. Help your friends in their battles, swap resources and heroes, and enter events to win special gear and rare dragon eggs.

You can also compete and trade with other guilds, grow your guild’s area, build guild buildings for bonuses and buffs, win accelerators for your hatchery and much more.

Four times a year the guilds come together for a global event. Bring all your heroes and dragons you have won and hatched to beat the season boss. Try speed-quizzing to unlock great new topics to fill up your question stack. Enjoy plenty of minigames to keep your dragons entertained and your heroes engaged.

We can’t wait to meet you there!
